MOTOR-CAR STOLEN
MAORI SENTENCED Press Association. HASTINGS, Wednesday. Charges of the theft of a car, owned by Geoffrey Groves Speedy, at Waipukurau, unlawful conversion of a car. and also that of another car, owned by Edwin Turfrey, of Waipawa, and of being drunk in charge of a car at Waipawa, were made against Hirini Tihemi, a young Maori, in the Magistrate's Court this morning. On the application of the police the second charge was withdrawn. Accused was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment on the charge of thef£. On the other counts he was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon.
