HASTINGS, Wednesday Charges of stealing a car valued at £2OO the property of Geoffrey Groves Speedy, at Waipukurau, on March 17; with unlawfuly converting the same to his own use; with unlawfully convertI ing to his own use a car valued at i £2OO the property of Edwin Turfrey, of Waipawa, and with being drunk in ■ charge of this car at Waipawa, were ! preferred against Hirini TihemJ, a young Maori, at the Magistrate’s Court this morning. On the application of the police the second charge was withdrawn. Accused was sentenced to two years* reformative treatment on the d iri;e of theft. On the other counts he ordered to com© up for sentence called upon.
