HINKLERS OWN BUS WOULD DO BUT HE PREFERS SEAPLANE "She*d do it all right; but a larger plane would be safer.” In those words, Bert Hinkler recently expressed to an Australian his own confidence in the capacity of his Avro-Avian for a trans-Tasman flight: but indicated his views on the best machine for such a venture. “What type of plane would you use. just supposing yon agreed to the suggestion?” he was asked. “Oh. preferably a seaplane.” he re plied, but he would not indicate what make he preferred. “In any case. I will not consider the suggestion until it is made to me offi cially,” were his last words.
