The stock market again smashed its record with total sales of 4,655,900 shares. MiUions of dollars in paper profits were wiped out during a frenzied session when General Motors dropped 181 points in early dealings. The stock closed relatively strong, but not enough to make up the losses. The ticker fell behind during the first hour, and never caught up. Brokers and clerks are working late hours nightly, but are receiving large bonuses.—A. and N.Z.
