COSTLY OMISSION
- CLUB SECRETARY FINED LIQUOR FOR MEMBERS (From Our Ourn Correspondent ./ | TE KUTTI, Tuesday. Two charges of failing to notify persons to whom an order was given for liquor with the names and addresses of those on whose behalf the order was given and of selling liquor within*, proclaimed area, were admitted in thMagistrate's Court to-day by Lavrence Michael Halcrow, a carrier, c« Te Kuiti. Sergeant Feamley said defendant was secretary of what was known the Black Hand Club, and latterly as the Glee Club. and had nurca* i liquor on behalf of its members. Hr had been quite frank about the whole afair. Mr. K. Lowe, for defendant, said his client had signed his own name, but had omitted to include on the form tfcr names of the persons for whom it being ordered. The club me lber* indulged in sports during the weAend, and had entertainments in the evening. Describing the case as different from the usual type of sly-grog selling, fir magistrate imposed a fine of £5 on each of the two charges.
