FAREWELL FUNCTION
On Monday at the Hamilton Croquet j Courts, the finals of the A grade doubles j were played, resulting in a victory for I Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Wilkes, the j runners-up being Mrs. Totman and Mrs. Shepherd. An opportunity was taken to make a farewell present to one of the keenest members of the club, Mrs. Hutchinson, who is leaving Hamilton shortly to live in Auckland. Mrs. Johnson 'expressed great regret that the club should loose so interested a player, but wished her all success in her new club. Other members of the club present were Mesdames Benn, Earle, Graham, Horton, Johnston, Jones, Meadows. Parker, Oswald Smith, Salter, Scrimshaw, Totman, Wilkes, and Miss Earle. On Tuesday the match for the “Stars” was played between Frankton and Cambridge on the Hamilton green. The result was another tie between these clubs. Another match is arranged for 1 Monday on the Cambridge green. Steaming is the best way to remove rain spots from velvet. Put the frock on a hanger, and move it to and fro in front of a steaming kettle of water. Dry as quickly as possible and brush lightly.
