PAPAKURA PROTEST / From Our Own Correspondent.) PAPAKURA, Tuesday Strong protests were made by speakers at the meeting of the Papa - kura Road Board last evening regarding the bad street lighting service the board is receiving from the Electric - Power Board. Mr. McEntee said they paid another 5s for an extra hour and yet were not getting it. Several lights were out altogether. The Rev. W. C. Wood said it was little short of a scan da L The lights did not com# on till about 8.30 pan. on Sunday, and the other night they were out at 11.40 p.m. instead of 1 a.m. Sometimes they burned alt day. The automatic clocks did not function properly. He hoped the board’s protest would be worded in emphatic terms. No action was taken, members evidently regarding their verbal protest as sufficient.
