BOOKMAKER FINED
OLD OFFENDER IN DUNEDIN Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. In the Police Court, Ernest Percy Dell was fined £25 for bookmaking. The police stated that accused was fined £l#o at Oamaru in 1924 for the same offence, and apparently had done nothing since till the recent Oamaru meeting. Counsel suggested that, as he was a married man, with four children, the offence should be held over his head tor 12 months, but the Magistrate, Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, said this would be inviting men to have a trial run at bookmaking. ,
