MINISTERS MEET

WORK OF ASSOCIATION The past year’s work of the Auckland Ministers’ Association was reviewed at the annual meeting last evening. The Rev. J. Pattison presided. The annual report stated that questions which had received the attention of the association during the year included unemploymert, immigration, the Bible in schools question, the prevalence of wine drinking at weddings, tin-liare racing, and the growth of the gaming spirit as evidenced in a Bill introduced into Parliament by Sir George Hunter. Happily the measure had failed to become law. The treasurer’s report disclosed a small credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Rev. E. Nicholls; honorary secretary, Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour; representative on the Workers’ Educational Association, Rev. H. Ryan; honorary treasurer, Rev. G. M. Macdonald. Generous tribute was paid to the work of the retiring president, Mr. Pattison, and that of the treasurer and secretary and other leaders of the activities of the organisation.

An address on modern theological tendencies as they affect the preaching of the Gospel was delivered by the Rev. Dr. J. F. Jones. —1 -
