DEVONPORT DOINGS

The committee of the Devonport Yacht Club last evening fixed the programme for the annual cruising event next Saturday. Classes A, B, and C will have Te Kume for a destination; classes E, TT, I-, and N will make for Matiatia or Arkle’s Bay as instructed. Harbour races for the smaller classes will be held in conjunction with the Tamaki Yacht Club. Entries close at Messrs. John Burns up to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and at Hipkins, Devonport, up to noon on Wednesday. Sergeant-Major Blow has purchased ;t. ‘hooker” formerly belonging to Mr. YV. Tanner, at Devonport. This boat has ornamented the Devonport Yacht Club’s area for several seasons. She was put in the water on Saturday, and taken to the Whau Creek, to be a • family boat.”
