Broken Order-—Daniel Minihan, aged 37, charged at the Police Court to-day with breaking his prohibition order, was fined £5.
Axeman Loses Sight.—Mr. F. Hancock, of Rangiwahia, near Mangaweka, lost the sight of one eye on Saturday.He was chopping wood, and a piece flew up and entered his eye.
Crashed Into Lorry.—A motor-cyclist Albert Brown, was taken to the New Plymouth Hospital late yesterday with severe facial injuries as the result of a collision with a motor-lorry at Vogeltown.
Not Going to Die. —The Mutamata A. and P. Association has decided not to go out of existence, but to make a determined effort to recover the former position of the district as a show centre.
Labourer’s Throat Gashed. A labourer, Douglas McPherson, of the Pongaroa district, was admitted to the Pahiatua Hospital on Saturday, v. ith a razor cut in his throat. The wound was not serious.—Press Assn.
Hulk to be Sunk. —The Union Company's ship Rakanoa is to be sunk out in Cook Strait. She was a cargo boat of 2,246 tons and was built in 1896. Since 1925 she has been used as a coal hulk in Wellington. Stolen Stores.—Donald McPherson. aged 38, a ship’s fireman, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of stealing stores valued at four shilling's from the Northern Steamship Company. He was fined
