SPORTS CARNIVAL AT HENDERSON
1.0.0. F. LODGE MEETING The fourth annual carnival of the Henderson 1.0.0. F. Amateur Athletic Club, staged at the Henderson Domain on Saturday afternoon, was attended by a large crowd of people, including many Aucklanders. The athletic and cycling events were keenly contested, and although the tracks were in a very rough condition, the times registered were certainly much better than expected. The outstanding performances of the day were those of A. Butler, who won both the 75yds and the 100yds handicaps, and Mr. B. T. Murray, who secured the points cup. Results: 75Yds Handicap.—First heat: A. Butler, syds, 1; V. R. Walker, 3£yds, 2, J. Angelo, 6yds, 3. Won comfortably by a yard. Time, 7 3-ss. Second heat: H. S. Roper, 4yds, 1; A. G. Bond, 3yds, 2; E. F. Jones, 4yds, 3. Won by inches. Time, 7 3-ss. Final: A. Butler, 1; A. G. Bond, 2: V. R. Walker, 3. Won by 2ft, with Walker inches away. Hime, 7 2-ss. IOOYds Handicap.—First heat: A. Butler, 7yds, 1; A. G. Bond, 4£yds, 2; E. F. Jones, 6yds, 3. Won by a yard, with inches between second and third. Time, 10 l-ss. Second heat: V. R. Walkei*, 4iyds, 1; L. H. Meredith, 4yds, 2. Won by a foot. Time, 10 l-ss. Final.—A. Butler, 1; L. IT. Meredith, 2; A. G. Bond, 3. In a good race Butler won by a foot. Time, 10s. 220 Yds Handicap.—L.
