THE SUN CELEBRATES ITS FIRST BIRTHDAY

PICNIC AT PINE ISLAND The first anniversary of The Sun was celebrated by a picnic at Pine Island yesterday. About 600 members of the staff and friends travelled to the island by ferry, and thoroughly enjoyed an outing which had been excellently arranged by a staff committee. Particular attention was paid to the children, of whom about 150 were present, and they raced in a variety of events. An attractive prize list and spirited conmetition made the senior sports programme a success. Results were: Ladies’ Staff Race.—Miss N. Freeman 1, Miss 11. Currie 2. THE SUN 100Yds Championship.—G.
