BAY OF PLENTY RACES PRESIDENT’S TO WALTZER (Special to THE SUN) TAURANGA, Saturday. In dull weather the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty was held on the Gate Pa course to-day. The track was in great order, while the attendance was a record, a large number of people travelling from Auckland. The Tauranga Cup provided the biggest surprise of the day, the rank outsider, Rarangi, narrowly defeating the favourite, Arch Queen. During the day investments on the totalisator amounted to £14,112, compared with £10,622 last year, an increase of £3,490.
