Obituary

MR. HENRY ASPDEN A pioneer settler of the Mauku district, Mr. Henry Aspden, died at his home in Kingsland this week. He was 67 years old. Mr. Aspden’s parents settled in Mauku in 1866. When only 17, he took up an area of unbroken country for himself near what is now the Glenbrook railway station. About 20 years ago he settled in Auckland. He was both organist and Sunday school teacher at the local Methodist church.
