MACE—PENDERGRAST
Dainty frocks characterised the wedding celebrated at St. James’s Presby- j terian Church, Pukekohe, by the Rev. SS. Nixon, on Wednesday week, when Alice Myrtle, elder daughter of Mr. j and Mrs. R. G. Pendergrast, of Mangatawhiri, Pokeno, was married to Cecil William, eldest son of. Mr. and Mrs. G. j W. Mace, of Benson Road, Remuera. | Music for the ceremony was provided j by Mrs. Parker. The bride’s very attractive frock was | of ivory fan-pleated georgette, over a ! delicate pink charmeuse, relieved with silver. Her veil of Brussels lace, formed a long train, and was finished with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white lilies, carnations, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Eileen Pendergrast her sister, wearing a prettily embroidered French frock of mauve crepe de chine, and a smart headdress of silver tissue and tulle, caught at the side with a posy of feather and a diamante. Her cousin, Miss Mary Pendergrast, was frocked in pale green beaded georgette, and she wore a similar headdress. Both carried bouquets of asters, scabias, and asparagus fern. The flower girl, little Miss Gwen Miller, wore a pink crepe de chine frock smocked with blue and a pretty pale pink bandeau of ribbon and posies. Mr. William Mace attended his
brother as best mart, and Mr. Norman Pendergrast, a brother of the bride, as groomsman. After the ceremony about 100 guests, mostly relations of the young couple, were entertained at the “Mirror” tearooms. The happy couple left on a motor tour, the bride travelling in a mulberry ensemble suit appliqued with gold and rose crepe de chine.
