IRISH GUNMEN BUSY
FIREARMS FOR REPUBLICANS ILLICIT LONDON TRADE By Cable. —Press Association .-— Copyright. LONDON, Wednesday. The “Evening Standard” says there are 100 Irish gunmen now in London engaged in an illicit trade in automatic revolvers. The Scotland Yard authox’ities are endeavouring to locate the places in .London where revolvers are clumped in connection with a movement to smuggle them from the Continent in order to arm the members of the Irish Republican Army. ;The paper says there is also a considerable illicit trade in revolvers among London criminals. Scotland Yard oflicials suggest that the lash may be necessary to stop this illicit traffic in firearms.- —A. and N.Z.
