(Laughter.) m * m ■VTEGOTIATIONS to widen Vulcan Lane will be reopened by the Mayor and Town Clerk with the authority of the council. Arrange-' ments have been made already by which the council will pay £IOO for a piece of land to improve the corner at the junction with Queen Street, the owners of the new Vulcan Building having the right to build over it from the first storey upwards. THE alterations to Pierce's Buildings at the corner of Khyber Pass and Symonds Street cost the City Council £4,60S 2s, including the roadway. AN the suggestion of Cr. A. J. Stallworthy, the council is considering properly forming Myers Street, which runs across the Civic Square. THE tarring and sanding of Canal Road, Avondale, has been deferred till the new estimates are presented. ATAINTENANCE repairs only can be done on Rose Road, Grey Lynn, about which 59 people petitioned the council recently. To properly deal with the street would cost £2,000, which sum is not available. THE Mayor and Councillors G. Knight, E. J. Phelan, H. Potter and- G. Ashby were appointed a committee in connection- with Anzac Day services.
