UNEMPLOYED TEACHERS
SMALLER CLASSES URGED D CERTIFICATE USELESS Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. The question of unemployed school teachers was discussed by the Education Board, the Teachers’ Institute urg-
ing that smaller classes would relieve unemployment and ensure better training of the children.
Mr. J. Horn, M.P., said that he was informed that some students who had finished training in 1926. were not yet placed. It was stated that most workless teachers had only a D Certificate. which was no use these days. It had been made a recommendation to the Training College that none should be persevered with who had not a reasonable chance of securing better than a D Certificate. A committee was appointed to consider the question.
