STRONG CUP FIELD
rpHE field for the Hawera Cup A as at present represented in the entries, contains several performers who have managed to get their name inscribed on some similar trophy this season. Among those who have won similar events and trophies this year are Gold Dial (Whangarei), Tui Wildwood (South Wairarapa), Shadowland (Manawatu), Neerson (Nelson), Lady Barrington (Hawke’s Bay), Kreisler (Westport), Lady Dunmore (Waikato), and Locanda Boy (I nangahua). But these represent only a small fraction of the horses engaged among which are several who filled places behind those mentioned, while many others with pretentions to country cup class, which is attaining a high standard, will add interest to the event. Handicapper Geo. Paul has some splendid material to work on in framing the adjustment.
