WORK FOR RED CROSS

WHAT CAN BE DONE IN TIMES OF PEACE GENERAL CHAMPAIN’S ADVICE That the Red Cross Society should commence to rebuild its personnel for service in war, was the opinion expressed by General H. B. Champain, secretary-general of the British Red Cross Society, in an address given at the Unity Hall last evening. The general said that such an organisation, whilb being in readiness for war, could do work of inestimable value in time of peace by establishing health clinics and being al\vays prepared to give such assistance in the case of emergency as had been done during the Japanese earthquakes and the Mississippi floods.

The British ambulance service snd orthopaedic clinics, the South African Corps for mine accidents, and the Australian Hospital Auxiliaries, w .re all described by General Champain, who concluded by explaning the possibilities of the Junior Red Cross movement.
