ELECTION OF OFFICERS Following the Mayoral welcome yesterday, the Federation of New Zealand Justices’ Association opened its annual conference. Mr. H. Herbert Smith. Christchurch, presided over an attendance of 25 delegates from various parts of the Dominion. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. J. Stratford (Auckland), vice-president, Mr. H. Trimble (Taranaki), hon. registrar and treasurer. Mr. I. Salek ( Wellington), hon. auditor. Mr. J. P. Cray (Wellington); hon. solicitors. Messrs. Salek, Turner and Brown (Wellington). The delegates visited Atkinson Park, Titirangi this morning, visiting the winter gardens in the Domain, the War Memorial Museum, the Ellerslie racecourse, and other beauty spots of Auckland en route.
