LIGHT AIRPLANE CLUB

MOVE IN CHRISTCHURCH FORMATION GOING AHEAD (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Encouraged by the fact that Mr. Coates, while in Christchurch recently, definitely assured “The Sun” that Government assistance in the formation of a flying club in Christchurch would be given, a group of enthusiasts is taking steps actually to form a club, which will then urge the Government to provide equipment as soon as possible. Advice from the Sydney Flying Club has been sought, and when sufficient data has been received, a public meeting will be called to form a committee and appoint officers. Those behind the movement expect it will be organised within a month, and provided there 1s no delay in getting the promised Government assistance, they hope to be flying before the end of the year.
