HOSPITAL COMPLAINT
WRONG INFORMATION SUPPLIED CHRISTCHURCH ALLEGATION Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. A Christchurch man whose wife has just come out of the Christchurch Public Hospital makes a surprising statement regarding the difficulty he had in obtaining from the hospital correct information concerning his wife. First he rang up to see whether an operation was to take place, and was told he would have to see his wife’s doctor, who was not on the premises. Later he found out that his wife had been operated on and was back in the ward at the time of his telephone inquiry. Then he arranged to meet his wife with a taxi on the day of her discharge. The hospital authorities had said the time was to tie 3 o’clock, but when he arrived he was told his wife hadgone, so he left for home. She was not at home, so he returned to the hospital only to be informed that liis wife had waited till 3.45 p.m. and that the authorities had obtained a taxi and sent her home. Having no key, the woman had to climb into the house through a window. The matter will now come before the board in the shape of a formal complaint.
