WAS DAM DYNAMITED?

THEORY IN LOS ANGELES RANCHERS’ GRIEVANCES By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. NEW YORK, Tuesday. Information which has come into the hands of the police has raised the question whether the collapse of the St. Francis dam, in the San Francisquito Valley, north of Los Angeles, on March 13, was the result of a dynamite plot. This theory is supported'by the fact that the disaster followed upon a 1; ng legal battle between the City of T .os Angeles and hundreds of ranchers about irrigation and the Hooding of the lowlands. Certain discoveries made in the vicinity of the scene of the disaster have strengthened the suspicions. The latest figures show that more than 450 lives were lost through the bursting of the dam and the consequent floods. —Sun.
