Bowater, headmaster of the Gonville School, "Wanganui, for the past 17 years, has retired. He and Mrs. Bowater were entertained at a large farewell social. Mr. Justice Blair, who has been conducting the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court at Hamilton, will return to Auckland to-day and resume the sitting of the Auckland Supreme Court to-morrow morning. Mr. A. Basire, who has been acting u Wellington representative for the British Corporation, has received confirmation of his appointment as surveyor to the British Corporation Register of Shipping and Aircraft, whose head office is in Glasgow. Mr. H. R. Mackenzie, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, left by train for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the executive of the Harbous' Association, of whicn he it* vice-president. Mr. J. Hickson, the well-known faith healer who conducted missions throughout New Zealand for the Anglican Church when here five years ago, is in Auckland. He will be in the Dominion for about six months. The Hon. A. D. McLeod, Minister of Lands, and the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, will spend this evening at Pukekohe. To-morrow they will start their tour of the Raglan County.
