COLOURED TABLECLOTHS
Possibly the only reason for the general use of the white linen tablecloth at meal-times has been the lack of any attractive alternative, but now there are tablecloths of a light cream or pale biscuit shade, with borders in lovely contrasting colours. These coloured cloths furnish the table in an unexpected and remarkable manner, and form a far better background for polished silver and glass than dead white can possibly do. They have, too. the charm of variety, for there are many colour schemes from which to choose, and one can almost find a cloth to suit every occasion. There are table napkins to match the cloths, and a set of four, including the cloth, is quite inexpensive. These cloths are well made of fine material and can be sent to the laundry without any fear of their coming back robbed of their beautiful borders.
