NEW ZEALAND SHOWS IMPROVEMENT STERN DETERRENT WANTED By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.54 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Pillage Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, further reporting on the pillage of cargo in the United Kingdom, on the Continent and in Australia and New Zealand, reiterates that pillage largely occurs in Australia, and sometimes also in packing in the warehouse or the ship’s hold, or transit from one to the other. The New Zealand figures show a diminution, but attention is still necessary. The trouble extends all over the world. .. .. The Australian and New Zealand trade shows improvement, though much remains to be done. The report urges exemplary terms of imprisonment for thieves and receivers.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
