HORTICULTURISTS’ IDEA A proposal that the Auckland University College should be requested to take the necessary steps to establish a separate chair of botany, "in view of the utmost importance of the subject to primary producers,” was contained in a resolution of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture received by the University Council at its meeting yesterday. While agreeing that such a chair would be of great value to the province members of the council could not quite see where the money was to come from.
