Racing enthusiasts will be interested in news which has reached New Zealand about the success of Australian riders in England. Mr. Geoff Meredith, the Australian racer who competed at Muriwai a year or two ago, has sailed for London, where he is interested in a motor-cycle race t, l a S k ‘ T he first meeting drew a crowd of 20,000. Two of the Australia.!! boys competing cleaned up the field of English riders and were • heralded as champions. This shows what is done in Australia by small track work, for these riders could not be considered anything but raw novices. Some of the Speedway Royal riders in Sydney are capable of cutting the time of these boys by three-quarters of a minute on a three-mile distance, so England would be surprised at. the crack Australian riders.
