McELWAIN’S ROAD OPEN

Motorists will b© glad to know that McElwain’s Road, in the Waitakeres, is now open. This is on the round route from Auckland. Xihotupu and toward Piha, then right along the top of the Waitakere ridge, to finally descend into the Henderson Valley, passing Sharpe’s Bush, Ferndale and on to the main road. The road was closed while a metal quarry was being worked
