NEW REGENT

“NOW WE’RE IN THE AIR” Nothing quite so funny has been seen for a long time as “Now We’re in the Air,” a ludicrous comedy featuring those inimitable

humorists, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton. “How We’re in the Air” is only one of the wonderful laughter makers on the excellent programme this week at the Hew Regent. Packed houses at every performance have sat convulsed with laughter at the absurd antics of this impossible duo.

Men and women sat rolling in their seats, the tears streaming out of their eyes, as shriek followed shriek; one and all acclaim Beery and Hatton’s latest to be the funniest thing they have yet done. “One Woman to Another,” featuring the screen’s “beautiful orchid lady,” Florence Vidor, is another delightful comedy of a lighter type. On this strong programme a third laughterquake is a short 20 minutes’ comedy, “Oh! Mummy,” starring Jimmie Adams. This is simply one yell of laughter and completes the happy merriment and revelry of the whole entertainment. Leslie V. Harvey, eminent master organist, again scores a great personal triumph this week with his rendering of “At Dawning,” by Cadman, and Paderewski’s Minuet. Maurice Gutrdige and the very fine Regent operatic orchestra render an excellent musical score.
