PRINCE EDWARD

“THE UNBORN” Probably one of the most discussed psychological plays of its time is the special attraction which will be shown at the Prince Edward Theatre to-night. Dealing with the great problem of birth control in a refined and dignified manner, “The Unborn” has created a stir wherever screened. Essentially a woman’s picture that has been described as “a page from a woman’s soul," the film tells of events in the life of a small town girl, who marries a wealthy young business man from Chicago. Convinced by false friends that she is not good enough for him, the girl returns to her aunt in the country, broken-hearted and about to become a mother. Her husband, convinced that she has deserted him, divorces her, and is drawn into a marriage with a worthless woman of a fast set. The first

wife’s baby is bom in great poverty and without medical assistance, and becomes the sole care of the little . mother. Meanwhile the second wife, surrounded with every care and expert attention, rebels at the pros- , pect of motherhood. Her husband discovers

her pleading with the family doctor, and in a very tense dramatic scene denounces her for her cowardice. From here the story works up to a tremendous climax, and is filled with engrossing situations, superbly enacted by a cast of sterling American players, including Alee B Francis, Caisson Fergusson, Margaret Bannerman and others.
