With thp remarkable acceptance of 3S contestants for the Hikutaia Handicap at the Thames fixture on Saturday, it was only to be expected the club would find it necessary to run the event in two divisions. Twentysix of the runners figure on the front of the handicap, so that even with the two heats there will be a big scramble off the end. After the first division has been run and first division horses return to the birdcage, the horses of the second division will proceed to the starting post and the starter on receiving a signal from the stewards that# the course is clear shall without delay dispatch the second division. No horseman shall drive in both divisions. Operating the “Tote” The totalisator will operate as in the case of an ordinary race. The numbers of all horses engaged will be allocated on the machine, which will be closed prior to the start of the first division.
