THIEF'S BIG HAUL

£SOO WORTH OF LOOT MANY HOUSES ROBBED Wallace Athol Warrington Gay Smith, aged 2:7, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to 21 charges of breaking and entering. The value of the loot was £504 13s. He also pleaded guilty to 10 charges of obtaining goods and money valued at £4l 11s by means of valueless cheques. Smith has been operating in and around Auckland for the past few months, but he was finally arrested by Detective Hunt. The bulk of the loot taken from houses was money and jewellery. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. On a single charge of obtaining £1 by false pretences he was remanded to appear at Hamilton.
