Urban Populations. —In giving the vital statistics for the month of February, the Gazette states that the populations of the urban ureas are as follows: Auckland. 201,220: Wellington, 12G.310; Christchurch, 121.780; Dunedin, 83,155; Hamilton, 17.080; Gisborne. 15,000; Napier, 18,410; Hastings, 14,885; New Plymouth, 16,620; Wanganui, 26,870; Palmerston North, 20,480; Nelson. 11,985; Timaru, 17,320; Invercargill, 22,550. Totals, 713.665. R.S.A. and Ex-Servicemen. —The Returned Soldiers’ Association states that the Ex-Servicemen’s League is not the only body of its kind which accepts any member of any branch of the service from any British Dominion for membership, a claim which was made last Saturday. This is also done by the R..S. A., which at present has on its books ex-servicemen from the Royal Navy, from Australia, South Africa, the Imperial Forces, and numerous ethers of all branches.
