NO TIN-HARES HERE!

LIVE HARES FAST ENOUGH MANUKAU road affair TTNIONISM has extended to the hare j family. It is actively demonstrating that in Auckland there is no necessity for the introduction of the tin hare. The first demonstration took place j in Manukau Road this morning, when Puss Cornwallis 1., chief of the Corn- ; Avail Park clan,

tried himself out over 600yds with the traffic in Manukau Road. As there were no dogs available he gave the motorists a chance, but had

no difficulty in | beating the modern speedster with the 30 miles an hour pace limit. The try-out lasted from the park near the Barn to the monument, some 600yds to the south, where the demonstrator took the new road back to the hills. He is reported to have stated that he would race any car-driver over a suitable distance —but not on concrete.
