TOURING THE CITY
DRAPERS’ MOTOR TRIP THIRTY-MILE DRIVE Their business concluded, the delegates of the Drapers* Conference were the guests of the Auckland Association on a motor tour of the city yesterday afternoon. The party, which was accommodated in fifteen cars made its first halt at the summit of Mount Eden, where the delighted visitors spent considerable time. The next stop was made on One Tree Hill, after which the cars went through Onehunga, arid over the Mangere Bridge, making the trip back to the city through Otahuhu. Afternoon tea was served In the Auckland Racing Club’s Tea Kiosk at Ellerslie. Mr. A. S. Cookson, of Dunedin, proposed a vote of thanks to those members of the Auckland Association who had so royally entertained their visitors, the president of the New Zealand Federation, Mr, J. R. Rendell, replying and expressing his pleasure that the association’s efforts had been so well n ppreciated. He hoped to see all his friends back again at the next conference to be held in Auckland in a few years’ time.
