Fiji Sets Up Strict Film Censorships
A STRICT censorship is now the order of the day in regard to films at Fiji. A Suva correspondent writes: “The police are now exercising a very close censorship over the films that are being exhibited at the local picture hoises. Many parts, which are considered objectionable in a m<xed community such as this, are cut out of the roll. “In case of accident, all such prohibited parts are held by the police until the films are to be exported from the colony. •‘Amongst other objectionable matter, all scenes depicting successful crime are rigorously censored.”
