PAPATOETOE TENNIS CLUB

BRIGHT AT HOME A very successful “At Home” was held by tlie women members of the Papatoetoe Tennis Club yesterday afternoon, when over 50 guests were present, representing over a dozen clubs from the surrounding districts and the city. During the afternoon, four rounds of progressive tennis were played, in which the players were divided into two sections, the winners of which were: A—Miss M. Hill (East Tamaki), and Miss Burton (Mount Albert). B Miss Roberts (Howick) and Mrs. Jones (Takapuna). The men’s portion of the pavilion was arranged as the refreshment room, and the tables were decorated with flowers and streamers of Cambridge blue and white, the club’s colours. The members of the club served a dainty afternoon tea. Miss D. "Waters was in charge of the play, and much of tlie success of the function was due to her untiring efforts in keeping the play in progress.
