TE KUITI SHOW
RECORD ATTENDANCE JUDGE PRAISES RIDERS INCREASED CATTLE ENTRIES (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, To-day. There was a record attendance at the 14th annual show of the King Country Central A. and P. Association, which was held yesterday in fine weather. The quality of the exhibits compared more than favourably with those of previous shows, the home industries section having a record number of entries. The horse events attracted considerable attention, the best lady rider competition, of which Miss Crawley was the winner, eliciting appreciative comment from the judge. The dairy cattle and horse entries showed a marked increase, though there was a paucity of entries in the sheep and pig classes. There was a considerable number of side-shows and novelties on the ground. The ideal surroundings of the Te Kuiti racecourse were availed of by numerous picnic parties, and, taken all round, the function was a great success. Following are the results: HACKS Lady rider: Miss Crawley 1, Miss V. Hobson 2, Miss Casey 3. Pony jumping competition: T. Verner’s Ben 1, K. McKenzie 2, R. J. Love’s Grey 3.
