TATTOOING RACE DOGS

NAMES MARKED ON EARS To eliminate the possibility of substitution, the Greyhound Racing Association in London are considering a proposal to tattoo each dog’ s name on its ear. It was pointed out that there are d >gs which bear an amazing resemblance to one another, and, therefore, there is the possibility of an unscrupulous person running a successful dog in the name of one not so successful. The Greyhound Racing Association which controls nine of the leading tracks in the country, estimates that during the sensational boom season which has just closed 4,000,000 people witnessed the sport. It is officially stated that the prize money paid out amounted to over £40.000.
