MATCH AT PALMERSTON MARLBOROUGH’S CHALLENGE Press Association. PALMERSTON N., To-day. The Hawke Cup match. Manawatu versus Marlborough, begAn at the sports ground this morning. The wicket is good but the weather is dull and inclined to be showery. Manawatu captain won the toss and elected to bat. The opening was not attended by success. With eight on the board Young played forward to Cragg and was completely beaten. Norris filled the vacancy, and runs came steadily, 50 appearing at the end of an hour’s play.
