SUBURBAN SHOPS
CLOSING TIMES EXTENSION SOUGHT Three hundred suburban shopkeepers applied at the Magistrate's Court to-day for exemption from the clauses of the Shops and Offices Act and current awards which restricted the hours of business. Mr. A. H. Johnstone and Mr. S. W. W. Tong appeared for the applicants. There were a number of objeetors who were represented by Mr. McVeagh. The applications were adjourned until next Friday when legal argument will be heard.
