BATHERS RESCUED

DANGEROUS UNDERTOW Press Association. PAEROA, Wednesday. A boy and girl attending a picnic students from Paeroa Convent, at Waihi Beach yesterday, were nearly drowned in the undertow. Mr. M. Crosby was assisting a girl away from the undercurrent when lie saw a small boy in trouble in the water. Mr W. P. Pennell came to his help and they managed to seize the children, bi yt the waves and undertow were too much for them, and they were also in difficulties. Mr. C. C. Short rushed to their assistance, and his extra help enabled the whole party to reach the shore safely though very much exhausted by their struggle.
