TENNIS FINANCE
PROFIT ON FRENCH VISIT Receipts for the matches with the French team, held at Miramar, totalled £1,043 7s Id, and the expenses were £ 677 12s Id, according to the N.Z.L.T.A. balance sheet. The Frenchmen took 50 per cent, of the net profits, so that apparently the New Zealand Association made something like £IBO profit on the visit, which was admirable, considering that such a large amount had to be paid out to provide seating accommodation. The receipts for the New Zealand championships were stated to be £537 3s, and the expenditure £230 12s 2d, so that here also a substantial profit was shown. Both statements clearly show that the public is quite willing to lend its support to big tennis, and that the future of the game is distinctly bright.
SCHOOL GAMES PRIMARY CHAMPIONSHIPS The Auckland primary school championships will be continued at Remuera Tennis Club’s courts oft Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
