WYNDHAM TROTS
INTERESTING RACING GOOD DAY FOR OUTSIDERS (Special to THE SUN) INVERCARGILL. Wed. The Wyndham Trotting Club held a most successful fixture to-day, when some exciting contests were witnessed. The meeting, which was well conducted, was favoured with beautiful weather and attracted a large concourse of people. The track was in splendid order, and fast, consequently numerous time improvements were recorded. Despite the fact several outsiders were successful during the day speculation was brisk, the sum of £11,684 being put through the machine against £11,876 last year. The chief event on the card, the Trotting Club Handicap, provided a big field and a fine race, the winner being Revolt, an aged gelding by Coldstfeam Bells, who ran the journey in 4.39 4-5 off a 4.45 mark. The highly-bred Nelson McElwyn, who has not been displaying his form of last season, put up a good fight to get second prize.
