A GOOD OMEN
WHEN Special Bell put up such a pleasing effort at the recent Waikato trotting fixture for 12 or 13 furlongs, shrewd judges ticked him off for future reference, especially when engaged over a mile and a-half journey. His name was noticed among entrants for the Parawai Handicap at Thames, but he did not appear in the list of trotters handicapped. It transpires that Special Bell's name was omitted from the published list of handicaps, and the Epsom-trained son of Gold Bell figures on the end of the Parawai Handicap. The omission may prove a good omen.
