MR. BIDWELL’S LOSS

CARTERTON, To-day. When Mr. W. E. Bidwells house, “Rotoawai,” at Featherston, was destroyed by fire last night valuable racing trophies and records were lost, and only the Awapuni Gold Cup, won by Suggestion in 1925, the Wellington Racing Club’s Gold Plate, won by Reputation in 1914, and the photograph of Elevation, valued very highly, were saved. The origin of the fire is unaccountable insurance is unavailable.
