MUSIC IN TEA ROOMS
ROYALTY FEES DEMANDED The question of payment of royalty fees in connection with music played in tea rooms was a matter of comment at the Drapers and Boot Retailers’ Conference yesterday. The Australian Performing: Rights’ Association had made claims on many of the members of the Drapers’ Federation, and, as it« title to do so was doubtful, the services of a solicitor were obtained. Instruction had been given to have certain inquiries made in America, and it was hoped to have a reply shortly. 1
